As a design institute in France, Vand International strongly emphasizes the importance of ethical design practices and underscores social responsibility within the design field. In today's world, numerous businesses and brands frequently trigger anxiety in individuals through alluring and enticing designs. Consequently, designers hold a social responsibility to utilise calm and soothing designs to mitigate people's anxiety.
Vand International, through the Responsible Design Movement invite designers from all around the world in various disciplines, encourages them to commit to designing ethically.
While some designs strive for quick sales through attention-grabbing tactics, such approaches are unethical. We believe that the world needs designs that instill calmness. The Vand Award exclusively recognizes simple and tranquil designs. We appreciate calmness over flashiness and creativity, aiming to honor designs that bring a sense of peace rather than seeking attention.
We are dedicated to offering design education to girls in Afghanistan hindered by political and governmental issues, as well as girls in Iran facing economic barriers to education. We then empower them to seek employment, utilizing design skills that enable online work with limited resources. To date, over 1,000 individuals have participated in these courses.
